Michaela Shoberg began her dance training in Oregon at Newport School of Artistic Movement under the direction of Nancy Mittleman. She studied dance at University of Oregon, and went on to earn her B.A. degree in Dance from San Francisco State University where she received the award for Outstanding Performer. She holds her M.S. degree in Exercise Physiology from SFSU and is currently of staff in downtown San Francisco at Bay Sport Preventive Medical Group as an Exercise Physiologist. She has performed both locally and internationally with Pacific Dance Ensemble, Palm Springs Ballet Company, SFSU University Dance Theater, Austin Forbord’s RAPT, Paco Gomes & Dancers, and TrAvIsMoVeS. She is a co-director and choreographer for requisitedance.
Jenna Monroe began dancing in her hometown of Nevada City, Ca and continued her training at San Francisco State University with Cathleen McCarthy, Susan Whipp and Wendy Diamond. She was a member of University Dance Theater from 2003-2007. Her choreography has been awarded the Artist in Residence Grant from the Silicon Community Foundation. Her work has been danced at McKenna Theater, at ACDFA, the Garage, Dance Mission Theater, San Jose State University and the Santa Cruz Fringe Festival. She currently teaches dance at the Jewish Community Center in San Francisco. She co-directs and choreographs for requisitedance alongside Michaela Shoberg.
Brianna began dancing at the age of 12 in the small town of Grass Valley, falling in love with dance under the tutelage of Heather Eccarius, Yelena Holt and Dara Sherrill. She received her degree in dance from CSU Long Beach, studying under Keith Johnson, Douglas Nielsen, Susan McLain, Alaine Haubert, Sophie Monat and Lorin Johnson. Upon graduation, she trained with Bay Area greats Joe Goode, Hope Mohr and Bliss Kohlmeyer. Brianna has danced for David Herrera Performance Company, Inochi Dance, and Kim Epifano’s Epiphany Productions Sonic Dance Theater, ultimately finding her artistic home with requisitedance.
Tiffany Yee, a San Francisco native, trained at the San Francisco Ballet School for 12 years, where she performed various children and corp de ballet roles with the San Francisco Ballet Company. After her training, she joined BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio for their 2004-2005 repertory season. In 2005, Tiffany returned home to complete her double Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies and Communications at San Francisco State University. At SFSU, she explored modern dance with the on-campus company, University Dance Theatre, where she was a company member for two years and served as a Student Director in the latter year. She was also fortunate to work closely with Bay Area choreographers Cathleen McCarthy, Paco Gomez, and Alex Ketley. Since then, Tiffany has had the privilege of dancing with Inochi Dance Project, Jones/Dance, Napoles Ballet Theatre, and Natasha Carlitz Dance Ensemble.
Joshua was born and raised in Hayward, CA where he started dancing during high school. He is classically disciplined and contemporarily trained. Josh graduated from SF State in 2014 with his B.A. in dance, while there he had the opportunity to train under some of the Bay Area’s leading artists. He has been teaching dance since 2010, over that time he guest taught for several high schools in the SF Bay Area and worked for SSPA in Pacifica, CA. Currently, Josh is teaching dance, full time, at James Lick Middle School in Noe Valley and working toward a masters degree in education. He loves all the time spent with the company and welcomes a new season with requisitedance.
Erica graduated from San Francisco State University in May 2016, where she received a B.A. in Dance with a Minor in Political Science. During her time at SFSU, Erica was a member of University Dance Theatre from 2013-2015, serving as Student Director during the 2014-15 season. While in University Dance Theatre, Erica trained under and performed works by Ray Tadio, Cathleen McCarthy, Raissa Simpson, Kamala Devam, and ODC/Dance’s Brenda Way. In addition to her involvement as a performer at SFSU, Erica also had the opportunity to showcase her own choreography in the New Moves Student Showcase in 2014. Upon graduation from SFSU, Erica was awarded The Dance Service Award for her contributions to the School of Theatre and Dance. She currently serves as the Director of Dance at Spindrift School of Performing Arts in Pacifica. Erica is so thrilled to be joining requisitedance, where she is able to create and perform alongside her former teachers and long-time mentors.
Brittany moved to SF in 2008 to start her BA in dance at SFSU. After graduation, Brittany returned to SFSU for her teaching credential in Physical Education. Her love of teaching has led her to different schools throughout the Bay Area, including, Mercy HS, Jefferson HS, ISA, Spindrift School for Performing Arts, Westlake School for Performing Arts and Raoul Wallenberg HS. Brittany enjoys teaching dance because she believes it encourages creativity and self-expression in her students. Dance gives them a chance to experience art while growing strong and comfortable in their own skin. Brittany has been with requisitedance for 1 home season and is excited to start the new year with the company, enjoying the expressive and heartfelt choreography of the requisitedance directors!
